Welcome to the Advisement Page for the Computer Science Program at Southern Illinois University. Here, we are dedicated to guiding our students through every step of their academic journey, from initial enrollment to graduation.

Faculty advisers often serve as professional mentors and assist with technical course selection, curriculum planning based upon the student's goals, research opportunities and information on their respective fields.

Our faculty advisers are not just guides for course selection; they are your gateway to a wider world of opportunities in computer science. They can help connect you with internships, networking events, and provide career advice tailored to your interests and aspirations.

We encourage you to make the most of these resources to optimize your academic experience. To schedule an advisement session, students can select from the following options:

Undergraduate Advisement

Graduate Advisement

Utilizing state-of-the-art tools like Degree Works degree auditing, our advisers provide insights into your academic progress and help align your course selection with your long-term goals. Degree Works is the application that provides a complete degree audit for students and advisors to check progress toward an academic goal (degree) against the program requirements. Program requirements that appear in the undergraduate catalog along with course definitions are used to guide the degree audit function as it applies to the individual student. You can run a Degree Works degree audit against your academic record from SalukiNet. Optimizing your goals advisers approve your academic schedule and allow you to register for classes each semester.
