Conservations

What is wildlife conservation? Wildlife conservation is the process of individuals and organization to protect and preserves these species through conservation education, preservation of habitat and management of fish and wildlife. Just like tri-county conservation. Tri-county strives to save animals and protect the endangered ones.

Poaching

Poaching plays a major role in the extinction of animals. Poaching happens usually for fur or ivory. Between January 1, 2000, and May 21, 2002, more than 5.9 tons of ivory, 2,542 tusks, and 14,648 pieces of ivory have been seized worldwide—representing more than 2,000 dead elephants. During the same period, at least 965 African elephants and 39 Asian elephants have been poached and their ivory tusks removed.

Penalties for poaching depends of the jurisdiction. Each state has its different penalties. Sometimes, the poacher will be fined, imprisoned or banned from fishing in certain waters. Also, sometimes poaching is considered a felony.
