Email Client Software on Windows
The system administration group of Computer Science Department officially provides technical support for Microsoft Outlook Express.
Everytime an user logs on to a lab PC in CS department, an in-house developed utility, if clicking on OK, will automatically initialize the email settings in Outlook Express for him/her, including mail servers, account names... , etc. The Personal Message Store of Outlook Express will be set to that user's Windows home directory which is located on Drive M (was on Drive H), this will provide maximum security and centralized management of email. The screen shot of the utility is shown below

FAQ
If you would like to check and send email on Sun workstations, the recommended mailtool is dtmail. To use dtmail,
dtmail is a GUI software, it only runs under GUI environment. If you would like check email through character-based application such as Telnet, you can use mail or mailx, please check the man page of those two Solaris applications for more help. pine and elm are better than mail and mailx in terms of ease of use, they also available on Solaris and welcome to use if you know how to configure them.
